CLARISSA FEILDEL
LOCATION: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
Clarissa Feildel was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where food was at the heart of everything. Her Nyonya/Chinese and Sri Lankan heritage has given her a diverse repertoire of dishes, which she draws upon daily when feeding her family.
After moving to Australia in her 20s, Clarissa deeply missed her mother’s home cooking. She embarked on a journey of countless phone calls home, learning to replicate the flavors of her childhood, and has since become a fantastic self-taught home cook in her own right.
A devoted mother to Charlee, stepmother to Jonti, and wife to one of Australia’s most famous celebrity chefs, Manu Feildel, Clarissa’s life continues to revolve around food.
Clarissa’s book with Manu, More Please (Murdoch Books), marked her first step in bringing her home-cooked meals to a wider audience beyond the family dinner table. She loved the experience and has since made numerous media appearances, both alongside Manu and independently, to share her passion for food.
Clarissa has featured on Asia Unplated (SBS Food) and regularly appears on Seven Network’s The Morning Show and Sunrise. She has also presented at the Good Food & Wine Show, bringing her home-style cooking to live audiences.
In 2024, Clarissa took on the role of host for Better Homes & Gardens, a position she continues in 2025. She is also a proud contributor to the Plate for a Mate campaign and serves as an Ambassador for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation in 2025.
Most recently, Clarissa and Manu launched La Botanique, a multi-functional production, catering, and event space located in Botany, Sydney.
