ELLICE SCHRADER

With 44 years of baking experience and a passion for home cooking, Ellice Schrader has competed at agricultural shows and CWA competitions since 1990 and has been a member of the CWA for the past 10 years. 

This devotion to baking led her to the CWA convenor role on ABC's Recipe of the Year. Ellice's love of cooking was inspired by her mother, a fantastic cook who believed that “if you can read, you can cook”. Now, she shares her knowledge through the CWA’s judging mentorship program, helping to guide the next generation of judges. Her matter of fact, straight forward delivery is part of what makes her such a formidable judge.

Alongside her baking achievements, she enjoyed a 35-year career as a Radiation Therapist in Radiation Oncology. A lifelong learner with a curious mind, she has spent around 35 years tracing her family genealogy and is an avid fan of mysteries, thrillers and British crime dramas. When she's not in the kitchen, you'll find her playing Bridge and Pickleball.
