Jacob Leung is a passionate food stylist, food presenter, author and entrepreneur, having grown up surrounded by food at his father's all-you-can-eat restaurants in regional NSW.
They are also the Founders and Owners of Slowdown Studio, a global home and lifestyle brand known for its design-forward, boutique products and curation. With a design-savvy following of over 453,000 on Instagram, the brand is stocked internationally through David Jones, Nordstrom, Selfridges and MoMA, telling a story that resonates with designers, artists and design-conscious audiences across Australia, the US, the UK and Europe.
Jacob and his wife, Sarah Jane, are the Founders and Owners of Good Day People, a Sydney-based corporate gifting and hamper company they built from the ground up into a thriving, multi-million dollar business with a significant share of the corporate gifting market.
Jacob is also the Creative and Food Director of the food brand; House of Nom, where all recipes are his own. The brand's bestselling Koji caramel has sold over 6,000 jars in just over a year and has been featured in delicious., Sydney Morning herald and Gourmet Traveller.
Jacob served as the host of Asia Unplated on SBS Food, My Market Kitchen, Everyday Gourmet with Justine Schofield, and has more recently been hosting Virtual Cooking Events for corporate clients. Jacob is a regular on Sunrise on 7, The Morning Show and other daytime television series, where he demonstrates his recipes through fun and engaging cooking segments.
Since then, Jacob has worked with the likes of Taste.com, Woolworths, White Wings, ALDI, Barilla, Matt Preston, Warren Mendes, Manu Feildel, Silvia Colloca and Anna Polyviou, alongside brands such as Kenwood, McDonalds, KFC, CuisinArt and KitchenAid. Jacob was Food Ambassador for Pedestrian.TV's Selfish Weekend and he has written, published and released his debut cookbook, Jacob Food - an entertainer's guide your food you'll actually make which was a sell out.
Jacob's cookbook focuses on moments and food that are best shared. Each chapter is dedicated to a specific occasion with recipes that will impress anyone from next-door neighbours to picky grandmothers or even that special someone (Netflix and grill, anyone?). His personality and sense of humour jump out of the page, giving readers practical tips and hacks that both rookies and accomplished home-chefs can appreciate.
Jacob is also passionate about making affordable luxury accessible and has worked with travel brands including Sofitel, Swan Hellenic Cruises, Malaysian Airlines and Tourism Queensland. Thanks to his wife's photography background and jacob's drone flying ability, the pair are able to create everything from authentic UGC-style content through to high-end, polished campaign photography.
Jacob's skills aren't limited to just print, television or business though. Whether he's creating video content for his growing online audience, touring his cookbook with live demonstrations or even presenting on camera or at events, Jacob's charismatic personality and passion for food translates across every platform he engages with.
