SILVIA COLLOCA

LOCATION: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Silvia Colloca is an Italian-born food writer, opera singer, TV producer and host. She has authored six cookbooks — Silvia’s Cucina, Made in Italy, La Dolce Vita (all published by Penguin), Love, Laugh, Bake!, and most recently Simple Italian (2024). Her seventh cookbook, The Italian Homecook, was released this year (2025).

Silvia’s most recent television work is Silvia’s Italian Masterclass (Channel TEN), which returns for its third series in October 2025. She has also appeared as a special guest on SBS’s Mastermind in 2025. Her earlier TV credits include the SBS Food hit Cook Like an Italian, which has sold internationally across three seasons, as well as the acclaimed Made In Italy with Silvia Colloca (SBS), filmed on location in the Le Marche and Abruzzo regions and earning her a 2015 TV WEEK LOGIE Award nomination for Best New Talent. She also co-wrote, co-produced, and hosted the ABC prime-time series Silvia’s Italian Table in 2016.

Outside of food and television, Silvia has enjoyed a career as a celebrated opera singer and actress. In 2022, she released her first solo classical album with Universal Music, which topped the Classical Charts for over 20 weeks. That same year, she was invited to perform with Andrea Bocelli at his Sydney concert — a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Silvia is currently the Ambassador for Essteele Cookware, with whom she launched her own cookware line Per Silvia. She also proudly represents D’Orsogna Smallgoods, San Remo Pasta, and is now in her fourth consecutive year as Ambassador for the Italian Film Festival, where she continues to celebrate Italian food, culture, and cinema.

At home in the kitchen, Silvia’s style is unfussy and approachable, turning simple ingredients into dishes the whole family can enjoy. Her presentations are warm, engaging, and full of anecdotes about her culinary heritage. Deeply rooted in her mother’s and grandmothers’ recipes, Silvia’s food is traditional, authentic, and always shared with passion.

Italians are fiercely passionate and opinionated about their food — its preparation and its enjoyment — and Silvia is no exception.
